What is an ECV?
ECV stands for Electric Convenience Vehicle (Disney says Electric Conveyance Vehicle). Most people just call it a mobility scooter: a small electric scooter with a comfortable seat, handlebars, a front basket and a rechargeable battery. It is a good fit if you can walk a little but get tired on long theme park days.
Our rental ECVs include the Victory 10 Standard, the Victory 10.2 Super Deluxe and the lighter Go-Go Sport, which comes apart to fit in a car. You can see them all on our scooter rentals page. Would you rather not drive a scooter? We also rent folding wheelchairs.
Disney’s ECV rules, in plain words
Disney rents ECVs inside its theme parks, its water parks and Disney Springs. Here is what Disney’s own ECV page says:
- Disney’s ECVs are first come, first served. You cannot reserve one, and they can run out, so Disney says to arrive early.
- You must be 18 or older, with a photo ID, to rent and drive one.
- The weight limit is 450 pounds, and an ECV holds one person.
- A Disney ECV cannot leave the park where you rented it. Disney does not rent ECVs for your whole stay.
- You are welcome to bring your own ECV, or rent from another company.
- Don’t leave an ECV unattended in hotel hallways.
That is why many families rent ahead from a local company like us. Your ECV waits at your hotel and goes with you on the bus, monorail, boats and Skyliner, and into every park you visit. Always follow the Cast Members’ loading instructions. Disney recommends that ECV riders move to a regular bus seat while on board.

How hotel delivery works
- Disney-owned resorts: our driver meets you at the resort and shows you how the ECV works. At Walt Disney Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve, we leave it at the bell desk. See our Disney World scooter rental guide, or a resort page such as Pop Century or the Grand Floridian.
- Universal hotels: we leave the ECV at the bell desk. Just ask bell services for your Apple Scooter delivery. Examples: Hard Rock Hotel and Cabana Bay Beach Resort.
- Other Orlando hotels and vacation homes: choose “Delivery to Other Hotel/AirBnB” and type in the address.
The ECV arrives charged. Plug it in every night in your room. On a long park day, bring the charger and plug in during lunch. We don’t deliver to theme park gates.
How to book your ECV
- Go to our rentals page and pick your ECV.
- Choose your dates and how you’d like to get it: delivery to a Disney hotel, a Universal hotel, another hotel or home, or pickup at our showroom.
- Pick your hotel and a delivery window, add any extras, and check out.
- Enjoy your trip. On your last day, we pick it up.

ECV rental questions
What does ECV mean?
Electric Convenience Vehicle. It is another name for a mobility scooter. Disney uses the name Electric Conveyance Vehicle.
Can I reserve an ECV from Disney ahead of time?
No. Disney says its park ECVs are first come, first served, and reservations are not accepted. A Disney ECV also has to stay in the park where you rented it. When you rent from us, the ECV is reserved for you and stays with you all trip.
Can I take your ECV on Disney buses, the monorail, boats and the Skyliner?
Yes. Our rental scooters work with Disney’s buses, monorail, boats and Skyliner. Just follow the Cast Members’ loading instructions.
Do I have to be there when you deliver?
At Disney-owned resorts, yes. Our driver meets you and shows you how the ECV works. At Universal hotels and at Walt Disney Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve, we leave it at the bell desk.
How old do I need to be to drive an ECV?
18 or older. That is our rule and Disney’s rule too.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancellation is free 72 hours or more before delivery. Inside 72 hours, it is $40 per item. A same-day cancellation, no-show or refused delivery is charged the 2-day minimum. If a hurricane or tropical storm closes Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando during your rental, you get a 100% refund as an Apple Scooter gift card. See our FAQ, or contact us with any question.
